Arrived at Heathrow at 5.30am only to discover that my son’s flight from Oslo had been cancelled because of heavy snow. Fortunately the Norwegians are pretty efficient and by 9am the airport had reopened and my son was on his way. Only problem was whether he would make it to the Lane in time. By midday I was outside the Bricklayers to meet the first of my ticket contacts. The saga of my tickets is a long one but it all worked out well……………..eventually. I must admit that by the end of it all, I felt like some shady character wheeling and dealing (bit like my brother in real life really). Once I had secured the 2nd Man U ticket and the first Derby one, I was able to relax a bit and downed a few pints at The Bricklayers. At 2.00pm my son arrived (yeah), followed shortly after my my nephew. The Bricklayers had well and truly warmed up with several rousing versions of the Adebayor song. Then it was off down the high street for yet another ticket dealing rendezvous and then we were set.

Michael Dawson is confident that Spurs have what it takes to start climbing the Premiership table. Tottenham currently find themselves 17th in the table and have not lost a game in their last six competitive outings. Up next for Spurs is a tough trip to Newcastle United on Monday night.
Dawson told the club’s official website: “It was obviously disappointing to concede so late on, but the way we played, particularly in the second half, showed the spirit and the character of the boys and the quality they possess as well. “That is what it boils down to. We have shown the commitment and we definitely have the quality in the squad to climb up this table. “We are unbeaten in six games, including progressing in the Uefa Cup and Carling Cup, and it is now a case of turning our draws in the league into wins and hopefully that will start very quickly.”
Paul Kemsley, the Tottenham Hotspur vice-chairman who was closely involved in the club’s attempts to bring Juande Ramos to White Hart Lane, has resigned from the football club board. The club, which publishes its latest accounts today, will confirm to the stock exchange this morning that Kemsley, a property developer and a close friend of former Spurs chairman Sir Alan Sugar, has stepped down with immediate effect.
Last year Kemsley resigned from the board of the Tottenham Plc. His severing of ties with the club comes eight weeks after he joined a delegation that travelled to Seville to try and persuade Ramos to succeed Martin Jol at Spurs, a mishandled move that undermined the club’s start to the Premier League season.
